Bishnu gets rousing welcome in JSpur

Newly-elected Rajya Sabha member Bishnu Das was given a warm welcome and civic reception by BJD workers and locals here on Wednesday.

Slogans of Bishnu Das Zindabad, Jagatsinghpur Pua Zindabad and Naveen Patnaik Zindabad rent the air when Das arrived at Gandhi Chhak, the entry point of the town. He was taken to the town in a big procession. Over 100 four-wheelers and 2,000 two-wheelers took part in the procession.

About 50 welcome gates were erected on the road from Kaijanga to Jagatsinghpur and in the town. Traffic movement was stalled for over two hours.

The procession culminated at the Collector office parade ground, where the felicitation ceremony was held. After Meera Das and Ranjib Biswal, Bishnu Das has become a Rajya Sabha member from Jagatsinghpur district.
