In a bid to create sustainable livelihood for unemployed youths, the Bansidhar and Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) has embarked on skill training under the DDU-GKY scheme, an initiative launched by the Ministry of Rural Development.
BIPF, the social development arm of IMFA, opened its first skill training centre, the BIPF Skill Centre, at Choudwar here on September 27. MlA Pravat Ranjan Biswal inaugurated the facility.
The centre will train girls for the trade of sewing machine operators (SMO). In the first year, 170 girls from across the State will be given placement-linked training for SMO, which includes two-month fully residential training and one month on-the-job training.
