Bringing an end to all speculations, Bimbadhar Bishwal has been appointed as the new Keonjhar district BJD president.
Bishwal, a less-known face in the political circle of the district, is presently the Sarapanch of Shasanga GP under Hatadihi block, of which his wife is the chairperson.
Sources said Bishwal, who is known as very close to local Minister Badri Narayan Patra, had started his political career as a PS Member. It is expected that the appointment of Bishwal, a soft-spoken person, will help counter the anti-incumbency factor against the party in the coming elections.
Erstwhile district president Ashish Chakraborty has been appointed as the party’s secretary at the State level. Similarily, Kusha Apartm a heavyweight leader of the Champua constituency, is back in the BJD again after party supremo Naveen Patnaik revoked his suspension from the party.
