The Insurance Ombudsman, Odisha celebrated the Bima Lokpal Divas at its headquarters here on Wednesday.
On the occasion, Bima Lokpal Divas Insurance Ombudsman Suresh Chandra Panda addressed the insurers (public and private insurance companies) and NGOs working in the sector highlighting the importance of the day and the role of Insurance Ombudsman in ameliorating the grievances of insured. In 2019-20, out of the 1200 cases in various sectors, 1,047 cases were disposed off. This year, 440 cases have been disposed off out of 511 total cases by October 10, 2020 in spite of Covid pandemic.
Among others, Insurance Ombudsman officials such as Secretaries NM Behera and S Murmu, Deputy Secretary KC Behera, Assistant Secretaries KC Mohanty and KC Barik and Administrative S Samantaray participated in the webinar.
