A 40-year-old man was killed and his wife suffered grievous injuries when a private bus collided with the bike by which they were travelling near the Digapahandi police station in Ganjam district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Narayan Sethy, a resident of Matiaborai village under the Patapur police limits in the district.
According to sources, the private bus ‘Dilkhush’ was en route to Brahmapur from Digapahandi in the morning while the couple was going in the opposite direction.
Sethy died on the spot. His wife Rupa was rushed to the MKCG Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Police seized the bus and detained its driver for interrogation.
