PCC president Niranjan Patnaik on Monday came down heavily on the BJD Government in the State for an alarming unemployment situation in the last 18 years where approximately 85 lakh were unemployed including over 3 lakh unemployed graduates.
Patnaik said the State Government has only made a fool of the youths by forming a Biju Yuba Bahini ahead of the general and Assembly elections even as lakhs of them still stay deprived of jobs. It is going to make our youths big ‘Zero’ instead of ‘Hero,’ quipped Patnaik.
Patnaik said as per the State Government’s estimate by October 2017, around 1.8 lakh Government jobs were vacant. In that vacant in group ‘C’ was highest at 77,000 and group ‘D’ around 23,000. The Government has not taken any step to fill up those posts. Not only that, the Government has decided to abolish the posts which were laying vacant for five years or more.
He further asked where is the much-hyped ‘Chief Minister Ex-employment Generation Scheme’ now. The PCC president also took a potshot at the Centre for befooling youths in the IOCl refinery at Paradip over jobs.
The PM had assured that 1 lakh Odias will get job opportunities there.
But can the BJP Government at the Centre say how many jobs have been provided to the Odiasij Jobs are a ‘daydream’ for the State’s youths, he said.
