'Biju Swasthya Yojana a trust model'

In view of the rejection of the rates of the Ayushman Yojana by the Central Government by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), BJD spokesperson and MP Pratap Keshari Deb told leaders such as Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan who had criticised Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana and advocated for the Ayushman Yojana should hang their head in shame today for having supported such corruption breeding schemes.

Deb told the IMA also feels that at 15 per cent profit, crores of rupees will unnecessarily go to the middle men and the present health delivery system will collapse. This has vindicated the stand of Odisha on Ayushman Yojana, Deb told.

“We had already stated that Ayushman Yojana would lead to harassment of patients with 45 lakh people left out in the cold in Odisha. On the other hand, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana will provide a trust model instead of insurance model and the same has been advocated by IMA further proving that Odisha Government is right in its stand for the implementation of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana and its objections to Ayushman Yojana finds resonance in the stand taken by the Indian Medical Association,” he stated.

Dharmendra Pradhan has misled 4.5 crore people of Odisha and endangered their health safety for selfish and narrow political gains. He has further pushed 45 lakh people of Odisha into darkness by advocating for Ayushman Yojana which would compromise patient treatment quality and have harmful effect on patient safety. Pradhan

should immediately apologize to the people of Odisha for having supported a corruption-centric scheme of Union Government like Ayushman Yojana and opposing a people-centric, trust-model driven, health assurance scheme of Odisha in the form of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, demanded Deb.
