Biju Pattnaik Smruti Prativa Sammaroha-2018 was held at the Chhatrapur Public School on Thursday in which Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Surjya Narayan Patro joined as chief guest and State Planning Board Member Rama Chandra Panda as guest of honour.
Patro recalled his experience while working with late Biju Patnaik. Panda in his address presented a vivid description of the political career of Bijubabu and his noble vision for all round development of the State. It was quite a memorable experience working with Bijubabu, Panda recalled.
Brahmapur MP Sidhanta Mahapatra described Bijubabu as a charismatic leader. On the occasion, former Assembly Deputy Speaker and State Planning Board Member Rama Chandra Panda, former legislators Ashoak Choudhury; Parsuram Panda; Narayan Reddy and Adikanda Sethi were felicitated with the ‘Biju Patnaik Smruti Samman-2018’for their contributions made for the people in their respective tenures and domains.
Celebration Committee president Ashoak Choudhury presided over the meeting while noted labour union leader Prafulla Pattnaik delivered the welcome address. Celebration Committee general secretary B Raju Babu offered a vote of thanks.
Head Master Ajit Sethi and his associates performed welcome song at the beginning of the ceremonial event, while the artists of Kala Vikas Kendra performed a series of cultural shows to mark the event. Among others, Zilla Parishad President Subash Chandra Behera; Vice-President of Tata Steel Sushant Mishra, IRE Officer Suresh Chandra Patra, committee convenor Pradip Das and Banamali Sethi were present.
