On the occasion of Biju Patnaik birth centenary, a Biju Patnaik Memorial Cycle Yatra would be held on May 1. The Yatra would be organised at all district headquarters and people cutting across party lines would participate in it.
‘We would encourage the young generation to join the Yatra so that they can be examples in future,’ said Biju Patnaik Birth Centenary Committee convener Bed Prakash Agrawal.
The Yatra would start at 7 am and end at 9 am.
‘When Biju Patnaik was a student, in May 1, 1932, he embarked upon an adventurous journey on a bicycle all the way from Cuttack to Peshawar, now in Pakistan, a distance of 3,200 km.
To rewind the memory this Yatra would be organised,’ Agrawal said.
