Former Finance Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai attended several meetings in Jajpur district to pay rich tributes to legendary leader and former CM Biju Patnaik on his 24th death anniversary on Saturday.

Addressing a meeting at Dangadi, Ghadai said the State would march ahead on the path of development if all the people worked unitedly to translate the dream of Biju Patnaik into reality. Bijubabu had dedicated his entire life for the development of the State. When he was the Chief Minister, he formed Jajpur district. He had brought revolutionary changes in the field of agriculture and wanted to see Odisha industrially developed, Ghadai said. He also highlighted various steps undertaken by the Naveen Patnaik Government for the betterment of the poor people. The BJD, founded on this day in 1997 in the name of legendary freedom fighter and architect of modern Odisha, Biju Patnaik, has completed its glorious 23 years in Odisha. If any regional party in India has ever dominated the political landscape of a State for more than two decades without a break, it is unquestionably the BJD, he said.

The growing popularity and electoral success of the BJD is solely credited to its Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is adored by millions of people for his crystal clean image, corruption-free and transparent Government. Naveen’s pro-people and development-oriented policies have made Odisha the fastest developing economy of the country, Ghadai added.
