The ruling BJD has targeted to mobilise around 30,000 people for the Biju Bikash Samavesh to be organsied at Patpur under Sanakhemundi Assembly constituency in Ganjam district on Saturday.
The Ganjam district unit of the ruling party has started preparation to make the meeting a grand success. The proposed Samavesh would be held at Patpur Gandhi Chhak under the leadership of Sanakhemundi MlA Nandini Devi. Bramhapur and Aska lok Sabha Members, all the MlAs and Ministers of the district would attend the event.
The meeting would focus on the development works undertaken by the State Government and the Centre’s neglect towards the State would be discussed. Recently, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had held a meeting of the party MlAs, MPs and Ministers of the district for the success of the meeting. The meeting assumes significance as the State Government is reeling under severe criticism for the gross irregularities in the preparation of digitised ration cards under the National Food Security Act. Chief Minister would not attend the meeting.
