Bijay fear: Naveen Patnaik rushes to Mahakalpada

Apprehension that BJP nominee and veteran leader Bijay Mohapatra is sure to checkmate BJD candidate Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak’s prospects in Mahakalpada, BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday rushed to the politically sensitive coastal pockets of Mahakalpada and Rajnagar Assembly constituencies, cutting short his campaigning for the first phase polls.

Patnaik attended a couple of election meetings where he promised to convert all kutcha houses into pucca ones, provided the BJD came to power. Naveen also promised to implement the BJD manifesto in letter and spirit from the day his Council of Ministers took oath.

He stated that the Central parties did not have any agenda for the people of the State nor did they have any agenda for the unemployed youths, in particular. “The only aim of the BJP is to grab the Prime Minister’s chair. But it is not going to happen,” said Patnaik.

Patnaik stated that Kendrapada is the Karmabhumi of late Chief Minister and his father Biju Patnaik. Due to the betrayal of one of the associates of late Bijubabu in 1995 elections, he had failed to come to power. Hence, the time has come to take revenge on the man.

He urged the voters to cast their votes in favour of Nayak for Mahakalpada Assembly segment. At Kaharuni under Rajnagar Assembly segment, he appealed the voters to support Dhruba Charan Sahu, the BJD candidate for Rajnagar.
