An unidentified youth, aged about 25, stated to be a resident of Bihar, was found hanging from a tree at the premises of the official quarters of an Odisha Administrative (OAS) at Unit-6 here on Wednesday.
The OAS officer Arunanchal Das found the youth hanging from a guava tree in the premises of his quarters (VR/63) while he was coming out of the house for morning walk. He immediately informed police. “We never saw the man earlier nor know his identity,” said Das. Meanwhile, police along with a forensic team have started investigation into the incident. Initial investigation found that the deceased was not known to the officer, his family, neighbours or locals.
“We do not see the youth earlier in the locality. We suspect he was first murdered and hanged in the tree,” said a local.
