The daily Covid-19 positive cases breached the 1,000-mark again in the State on Wednesday with the reporting of 1,122 new infections in 29 districts and the State pool. With this, the total tally surged to 13,01,995.
Among the freshly-infected were 164 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
Notably, the State had detected 945 Covid cases on Tuesday.
Out of the new cases, 654 were from quarantine and 464 local contacts.
Once again, Khordha district reported the day’s highest 307 cases followed by Sundargarh with 197, Cuttack 132, Sambalpur 65, Mayurbhanj 53, Subarnapur 42, Jharsuguda 25, Puri 24, Nayagarh 14, Nuapada and Kalahandi 13 each, Bhadrak, Balangir and Baleswar 12 each Kendrapada and Gajapati 11 each, 11, Keonhar and Rayagada 10 each, Bargarh eight, Deogarh and Nabarangpur seven each, Boudh and Koraput six each, Kandhamal three, Dhenkanal two and Angul one,
Besides, 71 cases were reported from the State pool.
The number of active cases reached 6,701.
So far, 12,86,111 patients have recovered from the disease and 9,130 succumbed to it in the State.
