The In-charge of the Kendrapada town police station, for vested interest, was planning to release a detainee from lockup on Sunday night who was nabbed at the behest of the SP of Kendrapada on Saturday on the charges of attempting to commit a dacoity with Hyder’s youngest son. However, with the intervention of the SP, the officer was allegedly forced to produce him in court on Monday. The officer made all the efforts to release the detainee person by giving an impression to the SDPO that the detainee was innocent.
According to police sources, on Friday, the town police arrested three persons, including one of the sons of hardcore criminal Sk Hyder behind Niranjan Market complex near Kajala while they were hatching plan to commit a dacoity at Kendrapada township. The police also seized two choppers, a door breaking instrument and a bike from their possession. Four others who were on the spot managed to flee. The police nabbed Mohammed liaquat Ali, who was also involved in hatching the plan to commit the crime with Hyder’s son but managed to flee.
Getting information from the SP of Kendrapada that he was in his house at Fakirabad, the police had arrested him. The SP had directed the SDPO to conduct an inquiry and take action against Ali. But the IIC of the Kendrapada Town police station made an attempt to set Ali free without bringing it to the notice of the SDPO and the SP. Though, later he failed in his attempt. Now the question is if the police officer was not prevailed over with monetary gratificationIJ Meanwhile, SP Satish Kumar Gajavhiye informed that he has started a probe in the alleged matter. “I will take action against the police officer if found guilty,” said Gajavhiye.
