The Bhushan Steel ltd (BSl) has now triggered a new controversy with its vice-president allegedly threatening to kill one Gopal Naik of Angul district’s Gotamara village.
While Naik has alleged that BSl vice-president Sateesh Tyagi has threatened to kill him over a land dispute, the latter has refuted the charges stating that he even does not know
who Gopal Naik is.
“I don’t know who Gopal Naik is. I want to have open discussion with any person who has problem with the BSl,” Tyagi told The Pioneer over phone.
Meanwhile, Naik said he has lodged complaints with the District Collector and the Odisha Human Rights Commission seeking protection from them.
Regarding Naik’s complaints that the BSl is forcibly using his patch of land for dumping of fly ash, Tyagi said, “I have no knowledge about it. If somebody’s complains, his or her land can be ascertained through RI survey.”
Tyagi informed that the BSl is dumping 3,000 MT of fly ash every day in Quarry No IV of Jagannath Colliery. Besides, the BSl has been granted permission for filling up fly ash in six
abandoned stone quarries in Karanda gram panchayat under Hindol block.
