The law Department of Bhilai Steel Plant, a flagship unit of the public sector Steel Authority of India ltd (SAIl) conducted a daylong workshop at Bhilai Management Development Centre for the benefit of factory managers, disciplinary authorities and senior officers from Works, Project and Personnel Department on current legal provisions,statutory obligations expected under various labour laws.
The session was inaugurated by l.T.Sherpa, ED (P&A) in the presence of the learned Presiding Officer, labour Court, Durg Pradeep Soni and R.K.Sharma, General Manager (Pers.) The sessions were taken by P.K.Moitra, K.S.Khanuja, B.P.Mishra all senior advocates and Asstt. labour Commissioner (Central), Bilaspur, S.K. Mohanty.
The workshop covered topics on Departmental Enquiry, Principles of Natural Justice, The Factories Act, The Industrial Disputes Act and The Contract labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act.
The participants actively participated and in the feedback expressed that the workshop was very informative and useful for their day to day work. They requested that such workshops should be organized on a regular basis.
