The second phase of Bheem Jyoti Yatra was kicked off from Jhanda Chowk of Jharsuguda township on Sunday to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
On the occasion, a massive public meeting was organised at Jhanda Chowk in the presence Koraput Congress MlA Krishna Chandra Sagaria. He said Ambedkar worked for the prosperity of the Dalits in India.
The yatra will cover the entire western Odisha by May end and people would be sensitized on the failure of the Naveen Patnaik- led BJD Government in the State and the Narendra Modi-led Central Government. Earlier, a Press meet was organised on the mission of the campaign. Senior Congress leaders Dayanidhi Behera, Motilal Tanti, Sidharth Sarkar, Pintu Padhi, Madan Hathi, Dusashan Jaipuria, Bharat Awasthi and Jagganath Jena were present.
