BJD grassroots workers are a disgruntled lot in Champua for being sidelined. They alleged that a particular family is given a lot of importance at the cost of the mass supporters of the party.
Besides, they maintained that the Bhatta (pension) factor would play a role in deciding the course of NAC polls in Champua.
Many workers under condition of anonymity said that in Champua two types of Bhatta are given to the people— the one by the Government and the other by MlA Sanatan Mahakud.
Out of the total 9,508 voters of Chmpua NAC more than half are receiving Bhatta from Sanatan. The development of Champua and the value of democracy have no meaning for them and Bhatta factor will work predominantly over the Naveen factor in the ensuing election, they revealed.
However, a section of veteran BJD leaders here rubbished it and said BJD will have a cakewalk in the upcoming polls provided it changes its strategy a bit.
