The Bhasha Suraksha Sammilani would organsie a State-level convention here on September 3, informed Sammilani president and former MP Baishnab Parida here.
He said the Sammilani would hold discussions on the State Government’s dillydallying attitude to implement the Odisha Official language Act and on its demands of constitution of a language Commission and provision of punishment for negligence in implementation of the Act.
The Sammilani would also chalk out plans to hold protest meetings in coming days, he said.
“Though a year has elapsed since the Government declared to implement the language Act, nothing has been done yet,” lamented Parida.
The Chief Minister’s assurance to Bhasha Suraksha leaders for the implementation of the Act on May18, 2017 has also remained elusive, he said.
