The Bhasa Suraksha Sammilani would hold a civil disobedient movement here on Thursday against the reluctance of the State Government to implement the Odisha language Act, 1954.
The State Government had declared to use Odia in the Government offices and non-government offices from August 16, 2016, but though more than a year has passed, it has not been implemented by which the Government is flouting the law.
The Sammilani threatened to hold its movement flouting the Section 144 of CrPC in front of the State Assembly along with many intellectuals, writers, politicians and others.
Sammilani president and former BJD Rajya Sabha member Baishnab Parida has requested the Sate’s mother tongue lovers to join the movement.
