The Utkal Sammilani on Wednesday demanded that the State Government pass a resolution in the upcoming Assembly session proposing to the Union Government to confer Bharat Ratna to legendary Biju Patnaik posthumously and to put up a statue of Utkalgaurab Madhusudan Das in the Parlemant premises at the earliest.“In an article, the Governor termed Madhubabu as Bharatgaurab. He mentioned that he has not known any other dead body getting covered with national flags of more than one country other than Bijubabu. This assertion of the Governor and our longstanding demand should be considered for fulfillment of our demands forthwith,” said Sammilani’s Mancheswar Industrial Estate Branch president Dillip Dashsharma in a statement.
Stating that National Flags of three countries had covered the Bijubabu’s body, Dashsharma said the former Chief Minister’s dedicated service to the nation with unmatchable courage was very rare. He said the Odisha Government should pass a resolution in line with the Telangana Government to demand establishment of a statue of Madhubabu in Parliament.
