The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) on Tuesday postponed its semester examinations in view of the Bharat Bandh called by various groups to protest caste-based reservation on the day.
This is the second time that the examinations were cancelled in April. Examinations on 55 different subjects were scheduled to be held at 88 centres in the State.
The examinations would take place between April 12 and April 20, informed the BPUT Vice-Chancellor. The repeated cancellation of examinations has triggered resentment among students and teachers.
The university had earlier postponed the examination on April 2 due to Bharat Bandh called by dalit outfits.
