Bhanjasena demands CU in M’bhanj

Published on:

Bhanjasena, a students' organisation of Mayurbhanj, has demanded for a Central University in this tribals-dominated northern district of Odisha. Bhanjasena founder Kalinga Keshari Jena sent a memorandum to Union Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in this regard.Jena, expressing happiness over the fact that Pradhan is the first ever Odia to occupy the coveted post of Union Education Minister, wished him all success and urged him to utilise the opportunity to do something remarkable for Odisha. Then, justifying his demand for one more Central University in the State, besides the CUO of Koraput in south Odisha, he has pointed out that Andhra Pradesh has 3 CUs, Bihar has four and, similarly, some other States have more than one CU unlike Odisha. Thus, Odisha deserves one more CU and Mayurbhanj, being one of the largest tribal districts in the whole country, is the appropriate place for the CU to be established, Jena mentioned. Further, Mayurbhanj, being Odisha's northernmost bordering district, sharing borders with Jharkhand and West Bengal, will be the right and fit place for such a proposition and will benefit the education lovers of both these States, if a CU is set up here, Jena stressed. Union Education Minister Pradhan will take appropriate measures for fulfillment of the just and genuine demand, he hoped.
