The Bhanja Sansad here celebrated its Silver Jubilee, where attending as chief guest, Gopalpur MlA Dr Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi applauded the efforts of the Sansad in preserving and propagating the rich cultural heritage of the State.
Former Koraput MlA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, District Congress president Minakhi Bahinipati, Sanotosh Kumar lenka and Krushna Chandra Sagaria attended as guests of honour. Eminent litterateur Dr Pradip Kumar Patnaik highlighted the folk dance and music of southern Odisha and its profound contribution in the field of literature and culture. A special Silver Jubilee edition of the souvenir SAMRAT was released on the occasion. Dr Pradip Kumar Patnaik, Purna Chandra Mahapatro, a noted social activist of Parelakhemundi and Bahinipati were felicitated. Sansad president Gopinath Nayak presided, while working president Shaik Ibrahim conducted the programme. Secretary N Prasad Dora presented the annual report. Advisors Dr AK Tripathy, Dr Uma Sankar Prasad Patra, Sudam Kar along with other office bearers and about 500 members were present.
