Bhadrak residents' basic problems not solved

Published on:

The residents of Bhadrak town have been suffering from several problems due to apathy of administration and lack of political will.

The allowances for the senior citizens, handicapped and the benefits for the BPl households are not distributed properly to the needy. The land acquisition compensation and rehabilitation in case of Dhamra Port, Reba-Kapali, Gamei-Kansbans and Bhadrak-Chandbali Road projects are also proceeding at a snail’s race. The protest in shifting of district court has reached nowhere. The condition of the district headquarters hospital has been deteriorating with congestion of space and lack of staff compared to the number of influx of patients.

The drainage and encroachment problem has been rising day by day. Today the enthusiastic ruling party workers again offered false promises to uplift the condition of life for the inhabitants of Bhadrak. “The Collectorate witnesses a large number of protests on a daily basis. This shows the quality of governance,” rued a peeved intellectual who does not want to be named.
