The bodies of a couple, who had married a year ago, were found in their house at Elakha village under the Town police station on Friday morning.
The couple, identified as Deepak Kumar Jena and his wife Sanjukta, was found hanging in a room.
According to Deepak’s father Kahnu Charan Jena, as the door of his son and daughter-in-law’s room did not open till 9 am, family members broke its open and found the duo hanging with a rope and informed police.
A suicidal note was recovered from the spot. Deepak and Sanjukta had a love marriage a year ago, but they were not in good terms for quite some time.
Meanwhile, the family members of Sanjukta alleged that she was murdered.
“I talked to Sanjukta over phone on yesterday night. She was quite and well. They (in-laws) have killed the couple. A cut mark was there in Sanjukta’s hand. I suspect that they were killed,” said a relative of Sanjukta.
Meanwhile, police sent the bodies for postmortem and started investigation into the incident. A case was also registered at the Bhadrak Town police station.
