The Town police on Sunday arrested BJP Bhadrak district Yuva Morcha (BJYM) general secretary Bikash Shrestha in connection with the violence in the town on April 6 and 7 after posting of derogatory remarks on Hindu gods in social media platform.
After the postings in the social media there was widespread violence and arson in which properties worth crores of rupees were destroyed. Though curfew has been relaxed by the district administration for 16 hours, night curfew is still in force in the town.
Earlier, a BJD Councillor had been arrested in connection with the violence.
