The Vigilance police on Thursday arrested Bhadrak Assistant Fire Officer (AFO) Sangram Hansdah and Fireman Bibhu Prasad Jena for taking bribe of Rs 2,000 from Shaikh Abdul Mojib, Senior Accountant of the Mishra Lime Mineral Paint and Private Limited, Bhadrak to issue a confirmation certificate regarding a fire mishap.
The fire had engulfed three rooms of the company’s gowdown located at the Salandi Bypass in Bhadrak on June 4. Government quarter and office room of Hansdah was searched. They were later forwarded to court, said an official release.
