Thousands of people, including students and Government officials, on Thursday undertook a ‘Polythene and dirt-free Bargarh’ drive on the eve of famous Dhanuyatra that began on Friday.
The world famous open air theater ‘Dhanuyatra’ began in the district on Friday.The drive undertook on behalf of the district administration was attended by Textiles and Handloom Minister Snehangini Chhuria, MP Dr Prabhas Singh, MlA Debesh Acharya, Bargarh district Collector Anjan Kumar Manik, DRDA PD Rajendra Prasad Mund, DIPRO Kalyani Das, Dhanu Yatra Committee convenor Sureswar Sathpathy, BJP State secretary Ashwini Sarangi, Municipality Chairman Prasanta Behera and Zilla Parishad Vice-President Sobhagya Ranjan Nayak.Students from the Women’s College, Panchayat College and the Trust Fund College and employees of various Government departments participated in this expedition.leaders said the cleanliness movement would be undertaken throughout the district gradually.
