The BJP Mahila Morcha, Bargarh unit led by its president Seema Singh on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the Bargarh SP demanding stopping of illegal liquor sale and gambling in the Bargarh town.
Staging a protest meeting, Morcha activists alleged that sale of illegal liquor and high alcohol content cough syrups are going on at all squares of the town. Similarly, certain groups of people have made it a habit to play gambling at different locations. But the police administration has not taken action against the supplier of intoxicants. They demanded that the SP should take immediate action against the culprits.
The Morcha also threatened to take intensify the agitation if the demand is not met soon.
Among others, Dipani Patra, Meena Saraf, Ajanta Shubhadarsini, Sabita Bhosagar, Gaurahari Mishra, Nabakishor Panigrahi, Ravinarayan Dash, Akrura Malik and Abani Kanta Panda were present.
