Agitating Block Grant (BG) high school teachers on Friday announced to hold the Teachers’ Day on Saturday as a black day to put more pressure on the State Government for fulfilment of their demands.
With the teachers continuing with their strike and the State Government remaining unbending to their demands, around one lakh Class X students have been pushed into uncertainties as to whether they would be unable to write Pre-Test Examinations beginning from September 7.
While question papers have already been sent to the schools, the students are not sure whether they would appear for the examination or not. The Pre-Test Exam bears importance as it would assess their performance of four-month long hardworking.
Out of the 5 lakh students going to sit for the HSC examinations in 2016, around one lakh students belong to these Block Grant schools.
“We are sorry for the disturbance in students’ studies. The Ministerial Committee is just eyewash,” said Block Grant Secondary School Teacher and Employees Association general secretary Prasant Mohapatra.
