A delegation of Block Grant (BG) teachers on Thursday held discussions with top officials of the State administration for fulfilment of their demands.
The teachers’ delegation led by their leaders Prakash Chandra Mohanty Pabitra Mahala and others held talks with Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi in the presence of Higher Education Minister Ananta Das. The Development Commissioner and the Finance Secretary along with MlAs Arun Sahu and Pranab Prakash Das were also present during the talks.However, the meeting ended without any results. The next meeting between both the sides is scheduled to be held on August 28.
The teachers, whose dharna here entered the ninth day, decided to continue the agitation till their demands, mainly abolition of the Block Grant system.
