A final year girl student pursuing three-year degree course in Yoga at the Sri Sri University here has reportedly committed suicide by hanging in her hostel room.
Police said they have retrieved the body of Soumyashree Dey (20), a native of Mursheedbad of West Bengal, and found a suicidal note from her room.
“We are waiting for the girl’s relatives to arrive here on Wednesday and then we will send the body for postmortem,” informed local Barang police inspector SK Patnaik.
Preliminary police inquiries revealed that the girl was apparently in love with a student of the university, and of late, their relationship was on the rocks.
