Two officials were suspended in Nimapara block by Puri Collector Aravind Agarwal on Sunday after a review meeting on implementation of PM Awas and Biju Pucca Ghar schemes. Agarwal found very low performance by Nimapara block in the schemes.
The block performed only 27 per cent and Terundia GP of the block was in the bottom with 15 per cent. Agarwal suspended VlW Kabiraj Kandi and GRS Asis Nayak. In this matter the concerned JE Binod Puhan was also in the suspension list, though it was not officially declared.
The reason behind the step was to stop PC system in the housing schemes.
The Collector issued a notice to the BDO, Nimapara to complete 200 houses before August 26.
When contacted, BDO Khirodra Padhan said the political leaders and the block staff were not cooperating and demanding PC.
