Keonjhar SP Rajesh Rao Pandit after taking over recently has said that his priority would be to restore law and order situation in the district, especially in the mining belt where mafias and goons hold sway.
Pandit was also the SDPO, Barbil in 2008-09, the period of mining boom when Joda and Barbil area was virtually controlled by mining mafias and criminals. At that time, when he started taking actions against those mafias and criminals, he faced life risk. But undaunted, he booked many mafias and criminals and sent them to jail.
Besides continuing his crusade against those mining mafias, criminals and anti-social elements, he also told that his priority will be the taking forward construction of Kushei Setu project at Belabahali, multi crore Kanpur irrigation project and sorting out the traffic woes.
