Oppose nonteaching work; seek Rs 50L for deceased teacher’s kin
The BEd Siksha Sahayak Mahasangha on Sunday decided to oppose the proposed Teachers’ Cadre Rule 2018 if the Rule is framed without taking its demands into consideration.
“Officers in connivance with some shelf-interested teacher organisations are working to frame Cadre Rule 2018 even as the earlier Cadre Rule 2014 has not yet been fully implemented. If BEd teachers, who have been appointed on merit basis after passing OTET Paper-II, are not named as subject-based teachers, the Mahasangha will be forced to seek legal help against the proposed Cadre Rule,” said Mahasangha president Ajay Kumar Dhal, vice-president Saroj Kumar Panda and general secretary Debendra Kumar Nayak in a statement. They alleged that the State Government has not paid any heed to its demand despite repeated agitations held by the Mahasangha. They said that they have got information that the Government would appoint subject-based teachers as per the proposed Cadre Rule. They also strongly opposed appointment BA and CT candidates as subject-based teachers and creation of Graduate Teacher posts by neglecting BEd teachers. Besides, they opposed the move of engaging teachers in various Government programmes, like distribution of anti-worm tablets. Stating that Balangir district’s Ghunsar Primary School Headmaster Anugraha Nanda died while distributing anti-work tablet, they demanded that the Government give a Government job to one of his family members and provide compensation of Rs 50 to the bereaved family soon.
Among others, Nrusingha Charan Sahoo, Rupesh Kumar Sahoo, Lalatendu Mahal Makar Ketan Sahoo and Rabindra Sethi were present.
