State capital Bhubaneswar is likely to become the first city in the country to have 100% Covid-19 vaccination as the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has planned to administer the first dose to all denizens by July 15 and the second dose by August-end, an official of the civic body said on Sunday.
The BMC has set a target of vaccinating around 9.50 lakh persons in the city. As on June 26, as many as 8.47 lakh persons received the first dose while 4.79 lakh took the second one. A total of 13.26 lakh doses of vaccine have been administered so far. The BMC currently has a stock of 4.13 lakh doses of vaccine while more consignments are scheduled to reach the city to ensure uninterrupted vaccination, the official said, adding that around 30,000 persons are being vaccinated daily.
