Bhubaneswar on Thursday registered 272 Covid-19 positive cases, with which the total tally in the city increased to 1,03,023. Notably, the capital city had recorded 261 positive cases on Wednesday. Out of the 272 new cases, 217 were local contacts and 55 from quarantine. The local contacts included 14 cases in Patia, followed by 13 each in Unit-8 and Khandagiri, 12 in Nayapalli, nine in Sailashree Vihar and eight in Rasulgarh.
The active cases in the city stood at 2,892. Meanwhile, six more patients succumbed to the disease, increasing the total death toll to 965. However, 223 persons recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 98,918.
