As targeted earlier, Bhubaneswar has become the first city in the country to achieve 100-per cent vaccination against Covid-19.
Informing this on Saturday, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Lakhmikant Sethi said that around 10.60 lakh people have already taken the first vaccine dose while around 8 lakh of them have been administered with both the doses.
“All residents of Bhubaneswar have been vaccinated against the virus. The remaining nonresidents of the city (floating population) will soon be fully vaccinated,” he said, adding that the BMC is making all possible efforts to put the capital city in number one position in the country from various aspects.
Earlier, the BMC had earned praises by increasing the daily vaccination figures with introduction of drive-in vaccination centres and vaccination of destitute, homeless, beggars and slum dwellers.
