The Orissa High Court on Monday directed Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay to appear before it personally during its next hearing in the case of the Bhubaneswar minor girl gang-rape.
Expressing displeasure over the progress of the probe into the gang-rape case, the court asked the DGP to depose personally and submit an affidavit on the progress of the investigation into the matter.The court fixed next date of hearing on November 18. Notably, the Crime Branch has taken charge of the probe into the case from the Commissionerate police since last month.
The minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by several employees of news channel OTV for around 15 days during the months of April and May. The Odisha State Commission for Women has also been inquiring the matter.
