Acting on the complaints of possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income by Rabindra Nath Pradhan, Assistant Executive Engineer, GPH Division-II, Unit-III, Bhubaneswar, Vigilance sleuths conducted raids on his houses and office room at six places and detected assets worth Rs 6,53,86,710 in his name and his family members’ names.
The detected assets include 48 flats at Balipatna of Rs 4.04 crore, two double-storied buildings at Bhubaneswar of Rs 93.38 lakh, eight plots of Rs 43.32 lakh, bank deports of Rs 72.82 lakh and vehicles worth Rs 22.50 lakh.His son owns three companies, Affire Infracon, Affire Multi Service and RP Condev.
The Vigilance police also nabbed veterinary surgeon, Priyabrata Behera, posted at Subalaya in Subarnapur district while he was accepting an illegal gratification of Rs 5,000 to submit an eligibility certificate in favour of a person under the Mo Guhala scheme.
Malkangiri district’s Podia Block Programme Manager for CHC Srimanta Atibodhi was also arrested for taking bribe of Rs 20,000 from one Rakesh Das for passing a bill of hire charges his Bolero van.
