The Phulbani Bar Association along with the Bus Owners’ Association and the Byabasayi Mahasangha has called for a Phulbani Bandh on Thursday in protest against rising criminal activities in the town.
On October 11, some anti-socials had attacked the secretary of the Bar Association and two businessmen in the Ganesh market. later, some persons under the banner of Gramanchal Suraksha Samiti also put pressure on the administration to arrest the secretary making false charged against him. The Samiti is not a registered body and has no posts like president and secretary. It is creating caste feelings in the district, alleged
“In protest against attack on the secretary and businessmen and hooliganism of the Samiti, we will observe a 12-hour bandh in Phulbani. Court, Government offices, markets and bus services will be stopped,” said association members.
They demanded that the administration arrest the attackers and take action against the disturbing elements soon.
