Barsha moves High Court to cancel bails of Raghu, son

Former Minister Raghunath Mohanty's daughter-in-law Barsha Sowny Choudhury, who has brought a dowry torture case against him and four of his family members, including her husband Raja Shree Mohanty, on Monday approached the Odisha High Court seeking cancellation of the bails granted to Raghunath Mohanty and his son.
She filed a criminal miscellaneous case in the High Court alleging that the conditions set by the Baleswar courts while granting bails to the father-son duo are being flouted openly. She has sought protection to her and her family members.
She has alleged that on April 5 when Raja Shree was granted bail by the District and Sessions Court, hundreds of his supporters burst crackers in front of her house in her village in Raibania in Baleswar district. An FIR to this effect was filed in the local police station, she pointed out.
"The SDJM Court and the District Judge Court while granting bails have categorically asked Raghunath Mohanty and his son not to intimidate the witnesses during the bail period. But they are flouting the conditions set by the courts," said Barsha's advocate Khirod Chandra Rout, adding that his client has urged the High Court to cancel the bails granted to the Mohantys.
