The Excise Department on Saturday night , conducted raids at some bars and nightclubs in the city for allegedly violating the excise rules and operating beyond the permissible time limits.
The rampant violation was detected during surprise raids on the joints late at night. During the inspection, the concerned bars were found serving liquor well past the deadline. As per existing excise rules, bars in the State are allowed to operate from 12 pm to 12 am.
According to sources, the officials conducted raids at Reborn Club and Kitchen under the Infocity police station and it was found open at around 12.45 am with several customers
Similarly, Tapnotch Bars in Hotel Zoris Botique in the same area was found open at around 2.30 am. More than 100 customers were present at the dance floor and bar with the staffs serving liquor to customers.
However, the authorities have not revealed what action has been taken against the accused joints for flouting the rules.
