Vigilance sleuths on Friday conducted simultaneous searches on houses and office room of Baripada Education Office’s Senior Statistical Investigator Baidyanath Rath on a complaint of possession of disproportionate assets lodged against him and detected assets worth Rs70,91,235 in his and his family membmers’ names.
His residential houses at Bhanjapur and Forest Colony and office room in Baripada were simultaneously searched on the strength of a search warrant.
The detected assets include two buildings worth Rs35 lakh, bank and insurance deposits of Rs23.94 lakh, motor vehicles worth Rs58,000, gold and silver ornaments of Rs62,000, hard cash of Rs3,000 and household articles of Rs2.50 lakh.
