The Bari Assembly constituency is likely to witness a tough fight between sitting MlA and BJD candidate Debasis Nayak and Independent candidate Biswaranjan Mallick.
The campaign trails organised by Biswaranjan Mallick indicates that he is not far behind Nayak. On Sunday, thousands of supporters accompanied Mallick in a road show from Sujanpur to Kaintala under the constituency.Alleging that Bari has not witnessed any visible development during the BJD’s 14 year rule, Mallick said, “People of Bari know my character. I will work for them till the last breath of my life.”
Political observers here feel that there is chance for Mallick, a rebel Congress candidate, to win the seat this time as he is a good organiser and have stood by people at the time of their need.“There is anti-incumbency factor in Bari. Voters may choose Mallick this time,” feel some political thinkers.
