The Central and State schemes on free distribution of electricity to the BPl families in Bargarh have gone for a toss.
At launsara village of Turunga Gram Panchyat under Bargarh Block, the villagers have failed to avail the
benefit due to the apathy of the authorities.
According to the villagers, under the schemes, the authorities provided a transformer, poles, wires, electric boards, meters and other accessories three years back. But they are yet to supply electricity to the village. A few villagers alleged that some officials had forced them to buy the electricity materials to be fixed at their houses though they should be supplied free of cost.
They said though they have met the concerned authorities for supply of electricity to the BPl holders several times, but to no avail.
