Keonjhar MP Shakuntala Laguri inaugurated a 5,000 liter capacity of iron removal processing unit of JSPL at Barbil on Monday.
Addressing a gathering organised for the occasion, Laguri told that generally the content of iron is high in the water source available in the Joda- Barbil mining area of Keonjhar district and due to intake of excess iron, the inhabitants, mainly the Adivasi people, are suffering from different types of fatal diseases.
However, she appreciated the CSR initiative of JSPL for setting up the unit by which nearly 500 locals can use quality water and get rid of many fatal diseases.
Others who were present on the occasion included Sub-Collector ,Champua, Parul Patuwari , Tehsildar ,Barbil, Khirod Kumar Behera and local public representatives like Sarpanch Mangal Minda, PS member Yudhisthira Palei and former Sarpanch Janardan Munda.
