Pushpanjali Sahoo, a student of Barbil Junior College in Keonjhar district, has secured the highest 93.33 per cent of marks (560 out of 600) in the CHSE Science Examination 2016, proving that hard labour with proper guidance of teachers and parents matters in achieving success but not the standard of a college, at least at the Plus Two level. Pushpanjali, daughter of Daughter of Pramod Kumar Sahoo, a Chartered Engineer and Mamata Sahoo, a lecturer in Chemistry, attributed her success to hard labour 12 to 13 hours daily, cooperation and guidance of the college faculty and interaction with classmates and grace of god. The Barbil Junior College, which is located in a tribal dominated area, is proud of Pushpanjali's result and eight other students who passed in the First Division this year.
Pushpanjali had got 96.33 per cent in the HSC Examination 2014, and elated with the Plus Two result now wants to be doctor. Similarly, Satabdi Mishra, a student of Excelsior + 2 Science Residential College, Jajpur Road, ranked 15th in the State and one in Jajpur district in the CHSE Exams securing 544 marks (90.66 per cent of 600).
